We are looking to update our list of contractors who do conservation-related work in Butler County. With the many programs offered in the office, we often get asked if we know someone who has equipment or does labor for certain practices. Some of the common ones we are asked about are...

Cash for Trash
The Butler County Conservation District received a $7500 grant to provide incentives for recycling old appliances in Butler County.
An incentive cost share rate will be provided at $25.00 per appliance checked in at our office before recycling. The individual will be responsible for delivery to the local salvage processing yard. There is currently no end date for this program but it will end once grant funds run out ($7500).
In order to allow for an increased number of participants, a $200 (8 appliance) limit is in place per household and each participant will be required to show proof of residence. Must be a Butler County resident to participate.

Environmental Education Grants
The Butler County Conservation Board has a goal to educate others and to support others who educate the community about the conservation of our natural resources. That is why the Butler County Conservation District Board of Supervisors has allocated up to $1500 to provide materials for projects related to conservation education in Butler County Schools. The projects are to be designed to educate students about the conservation of our natural resources and how it affects our community.
If you are a teacher or educator in the county and are interested in applying, please see our Environmental Education Grants page.
It never hurts to apply! Get your application in today before the funds run out!
